Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service not only provides a service to those who need it most but enables students to acquire:
- Life skills
- Communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Problem solving skills
SWA Community Service Hour Requirements:
All students are required to complete community service as part of the commitment to SWA.
These hours are a portion of their portfolio grade:
- Grades 6, 7, & 8 - all students are required to obtain 15 hours for the school year
- Grades 9, 10, 11, & 12- all students are required to obtain 30 hours of community service
hours per year
This page will be updated regularly with various Student Community Service Hour opportunities for our SWA middle and high school students. These opportunities will be for both on and off campus locations. Please note, some of the opportunities may require parent/guardian supervision if your child is under a certain age. Your child will need to complete a Community Service form to document their service hours.
