Ms. Samuelsen's Page
Welcome to Ms. Samuelsen's website! You will find links to my classrooms and resources that will help you explore key skills, concepts, and ideas related to our class and daily lessons.
I am a recent transplant from Baltimore/DC where I was a high school teacher for six years. I am extremely excited to be joining the SWA family as the 8th Grade ELA teacher. I have two awesome rescue pups and enjoy exercising, hiking, traveling, creating art (painting, crafts, and photography), spending time with family, and of course, getting lost in a good book. I believe in spreading love and kindness at all times, and love fostering human connection and hearing people's stories.
I became a teacher to help close the achievement gap in our nation's education system and to work to ensure that every student has the opportunity to be seen and valued, and to learn and grow. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to share their voices and make mistakes, and where they are able to be appreciated for the unique individuals that they are. In my classroom, we are kind, we support one another, and we strive to continually open our hearts and minds as lifelong learners and thinkers.
