I am originally from Southern California but moved to Holly Springs in 2005 where I was a part of the first graduating class from the high school. After that I attended UNC Wilmington for my undergraduate and graduate degrees in American History. I came to the school for the 2016-2017 school year as a lateral entry teacher and completed my teaching certification through ECU. I am a huge hockey fan, avid science fiction reader, traveler, and fan of anything outside.
Social Studies is more than just dates and names. As teachers we need to help students understand why things have happened in history and give them the skills to not only become informed citizens, but to engage in respectful discourse using facts as well as opinions.
